How LED wall resolution is calculated.
LED wall resolution depends on the physical screen dimensions and the actual distance between individual pixels. Divide the screen width and height in millimetres by the pixel pitch to estimate the horizontal and vertical pixel count.
For an exact production resolution, calculate from the cabinet’s native pixel dimensions and the number of cabinets. Nominal names such as P2.6 or P2.9 may represent actual pitches such as 2.604 mm or 2.976 mm, depending on the manufacturer.
Vertical pixels = screen height in mm ÷ pixel pitch in mm
Exact pixels = cabinet pixel resolution × cabinet quantity

Estimate the electrical load safely.
Pixel pitch alone cannot determine an LED wall’s power requirement. LED type, brightness, scan configuration, power supply and content all affect consumption. Enter the manufacturer’s average and maximum power figures in watts per square metre, or calculate from the rated watts per cabinet.
The calculator adds 20% planning headroom and estimates current using the entered voltage and power factor. Final distribution, phase balancing, breakers and cable sizes must be confirmed by the LED supplier, venue power team or a qualified electrician.

How do I calculate an LED wall’s resolution?
Convert the screen width and height to millimetres, then divide each dimension by the actual pixel pitch. For an exact resolution, multiply the cabinet’s native width and height in pixels by the horizontal and vertical cabinet quantities.
What resolution is a P2.6 LED screen?
P2.6 does not have one fixed resolution because the result depends on the wall dimensions and cabinet configuration. Many P2.6 rental products use an actual pitch near 2.604 mm, but the manufacturer’s specification should always be checked.
Can power consumption be calculated from pixel pitch?
No. Pixel pitch alone is not enough. Use the manufacturer-rated average and maximum watts per square metre or watts per cabinet for a meaningful electrical estimate.
Which result should be given to the content team?
Use the exact native pixel resolution calculated from the final cabinet layout. This allows the content canvas and playback system to match the physical LED wall without unnecessary scaling.
Does the result include safe electrical headroom?
The tool displays a planning figure with 20% headroom. It is an estimate, not an electrical design. Breakers, cable sizes, distribution and phase balancing must be verified for the actual equipment and venue.
